IDDT Website ALERT!

Statement from Jenny Hirst, IDDT Co-Chairman:

Someone has set up a fake website and also Facebook and Instagram pages claiming to be IDDT, but it is not the real IDDT website. It asks for the name of a visitor to the site, an email address and for the visitor to make a donation.

It is NOT the real InDependent Diabetes Trust!

We want to protect you from making donations to the scammed website so here is what to look out for on the scammed site:

  • There is NO registered charity number on the scammed site.
  • There are NO contact details on the scammed site.
  • It uses the name ‘The Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust’ when our trading name is ‘InDependent Diabetes Trust’.
  • However, the scammed site uses our actual logo with the ‘InDependent Diabetes Trust’ name on it and not the name the scammers have chosen. It also has copied some of the words on our real website.

Here are the actions we have taken:

  • We have reported this to Action Fraud and been given a crime number. They advised us to let our members know as soon as possible, hence this alert.
  • We and others have complained to Wix, the platform hosting this scammed site, but they are refusing to take the scammed website down.

Our website is www.iddt.org
